Regulated activity in Australia

Regulation for the Australian market

Dromela operates within the Australian federal framework that governs digital assets and financial services, including the requirements administered by AUSTRAC and ASIC.

AML and countering financial crime

Dromela maintains an AML/CTF programme that includes customer identification, due diligence, transaction monitoring, record keeping, mandatory reporting to the regulator and mechanisms for countering financial crime.

Dromela is registered with AUSTRAC as a virtual asset service provider and complies with the requirements that apply to registered providers in Australia. The practical side of this, from documents to review timing, is described on the AML / KYC page.

ASIC and financial services regulation

Where digital assets or related services fall within the Australian financial services regime, the applicable requirements can include holding an Australian Financial Services (AFS) licence, obtaining the relevant authorisations, and meeting obligations on client protection and disclosure.

If you have a complaint we cannot resolve, you may take it to the Australian Financial Complaints Authority (AFCA). The steps are laid out on the complaints page.

Transparency about regulation

Dromela aims to maintain the registrations, permissions and compliance procedures required for the services it provides in each relevant jurisdiction, and to say plainly where a requirement applies and where it does not.

Regulation does not remove investment risk and does not guarantee a profit. Digital assets are exposed to market volatility and to other risks, which the risk disclosure describes in full. Registration details are confirmed to you on request through [email protected].
